Welcome
Unit Leader ABC
Congratulations, you have now joined the leader ranks of our guild. This is not just a “fool around†thing, the guild relies on you to be there for people in your unit and to give back the help you received when you were Applicant and Unit Member. You are their leader and responsible to make your group active and the best.
A. Now what?
Unit Leader is the first leader title you can get, but in no way a small one. Our organization structure is like a pyramid, where Unit Leaders are the basis of it. If we didn’t have Unit Leaders, the burden on higher leaders would grow and we would start to collapse. Your job is very important because you are the first sign of organized leadership to the new Applicants. You are the ruler of your profession and should strive to make it an elite unit for the guild. For this you need to develop your knowledge of your profession and become higher level. Possibilities are endless and only your leadership ability will set your borders.
B. What’s the catch?
As Unit Leader, you are expected to perform a few tasks that are needed to keep the organization stable and on track:
C. I like to play with other characters also
It’s important that you play with you Unit Leader character a lot of times. That is not to say you can’t have alternative characters, but think of the people who need your help when you are not there. Try to play you main character or at least have your Unit Members know your alts so they can contact you.
D. I can’t take it anymore…
Stepping down from Unit Leader is not a bad thing (although sometimes it’s a sad thing). This is just being honest to yourself and to other in the organization. Reasons for not wanting to go on as Unit Leader can be many – it’s more work than you thought, you don’t have time for it, etc. It all boils down to one thing, you are not having fun anymore doing it. Its ok, becoming a Unit Member again is not the end of the world, you will still be an org member and if you are happier with that, that's the main thing.
E. Apprentices
You should be on the look out for an apprentice, the best and closest member in your group, one that you think has the potential to do an even better job than you. This member will be the ideal candidate for your place if you happen to be promoted up to Unit Commander, your unit grows too big for only one Unit Leader or you wish to step down.
F. Can I advance more after Unit Leader?
There is always the chance for promotion, but it’s not easy. There is only one place up ahead from you and that is Unit Commander. Maybe there is no Unit Commander, maybe the person is going to be promoted or needs to be replaced, but remember, your performance will be evaluated against the other Unit Leaders of your division. Do a good job as Unit Leader and you will have a chance in the race.

As Unit Leader, you are expected to perform a few tasks that are needed to keep the organization stable and on track:
- Keep a list of active org members under your profession and make out a monthly report of members gone inactive
- Send out a tell to your unit’s new members so they know who you are
- Provide help and guidance to members of your unit when they request it. This is not to say you “always have to be thereâ€, but rather make the effort to help whenever you can. Your unit members should be aware that you can’t always run around solving things for them (after all, you are a player too). More important is to give easy information up to a certain limit and let them have fun with it.
- Attend Main Meetings and give out a status report on your unit’s status evolution. Your goal is to have all of your profession’s members at the meeting or knowing why they could not attend.
- Be responsible for your profession’s forum, learn how to use it and get your members to know how to use it.
- Play the game mostly with you Unit Leader character or members won’t see you much
